Antic, the south London-based pub operator partbacked by Downing Corporate Finance, has acquired the pub Prince in Colliers Wood off a guide price of £1m, one of four pubs the group is close to securing. The company, which is on target to open six sites this year, plans to give it an overhaul and rename it Provenance. “Antic bought the property off a guide price of £1 million. It is one of four properties Antic is currently buying” explains Michael Penfold of licensed leisure specialists AG&G, who marketed the Prince. “Antic, who also own the nearby Tooting Tram and Social, are hoping to move in shortly but will wait until the New Year before they give it what they call the full Antic treatment. They have however let on that they will be turning the back bar into a dining room, so expect some changes.” The Prince, which was previously known as GJ’s, is a detached, two-storey property on the High Street, a few minutes walk from Colliers Wood tube station.
