The Restaurant Group, the Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito operator, has made a raft of new appointments, including a new chief marketing officer and a transformation director, MCA has learnt.

The Andy McCue-led group has appointed Michael Healy, formerly of Paddy Power Betfair, as its new chief marketing officer, whilst Nick Sheldermine, formerly associate partner at OC&C Strategy Consultants, becomes the company’s transformation director.

At the same time, Rachel Savage joins TRG as interim finance director on contract from PWC, where she is a director specialising in advising the hospitality sector.

This morning the company announced the appointment of Paul May, currently chief executive of Patisserie Valerie Holdings, as a non-executive director. He will join the TRG board on 3 July.

May was appointed chief executive of Patisserie Holdings in 2006. During his tenure, he has overseen the profitable expansion of the company and its successful IPO. He is also a non-executive director at GRA Ltd, a privately-owned sports facilities and hospitality group.

The company also announced that Sally Cowdry, non-executive director, will be retiring from the Board on 31 August.

As part of the Board’s succession planning, the company intends to recruit one further non-executive director in due course.

Debbie Hewitt, Chairman, said: “I am pleased to welcome Paul to the company. As well as his strong sector credentials and his broad strategic and commercial insight, he brings a wealth of experience as a listed company director. I am sure that he will add considerable value to our Board and we look forward to working with him. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Sally for her valuable contribution during her tenure, and wish her all the best for the future.”
