Ten Entertainment Group has appointed Adam Bellamy as non-executive chairman. He will take up the role from the date of the group’s AGM on 5 May 2021.

It comes after the news last month that current chairman Nick Basing is stepping down after six years in the role. Basing had been due to step down in September but as a result of Bellamy’s experience within the group and existing relationship with the board he has decided to step down at the AGM.

Bellamy is currently senior independent director and has served on the group’s board since 2018 as audit committee chair and latterly remuneration committee chair. He is also currently a non-executive director at Loungers, and e-commerce fashion brand In The Style Group.

Bellamy has previously served as CFO of Pure Gym.

At the time of the AGM, Julie Sneddon will be appointed as senior independent director and chair of the remuneration committee while Bellamy will be appointed chair of the nomination committee.

The board is also in discussions with several candidates in regards to the filling the positions of non-executive director and chair of the audit committee and will announce these in due course.

Basing commented: “I am really pleased that Adam is taking on the chair, he knows the business and has worked well on the Board these last three years. The business is in safe hands and I wish everyone at Ten good wishes and every success for the future.”
