Simon Rowe, currently interim finance director at Gordon Ramsay Group, has stepped down from the board of The Koh Group, the operator of the Koh Thai Tapas and Koh Noi concepts, M&C understands.

Rowe, who joined the company back in November last year, had been providing the group’s board with strategic and financial advice that is believed to have resulted in improved trading and the strengthening of its balance Sheet, placing the company ready for the next stage of its development

The Thai restaurant group recently opened its eighth site in Ringwood in Hampshire as part plans to reach 23 sites.

The group said earlier this year that it had entered its next phase of growth after completing its initial five-year business plan and was considering sites in Lymington, Salisbury, Romsey and Winchester for its next restaurants.

The group aims to open an average of three restaurants each year under the Koh Thai and smaller Koh Noi formats, with Koh Noi being instrumental to the expansion plans.

Co-founder Andy Lennox previously told M&C the group is “looking across the country from Cheltenham and all across the south” for target locations.
