Recently formed pub investment group Red Lion Holdings (RLH) has appointed Mark Robson, founder and current managing director of Red Mist Leisure, as its new group chief operating officer.

RLH, led by former Busaba CEO Jason Myers and sector investor David Ramsay, acquired 11-strong operator Red Mist – its first acquisition under the new pub investment vehicle – in January this year.

Robson will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of RLH’s operations and will work with the board to deliver its ambitious vision for growth. He will oversee the senior teams in both Red Mist and Grosvenor Pubs – its other acquisition – and is looking to appoint managing/senior operations director for four-strong Grosvenor Pubs as well as a sales and revenue director for RLH.

Commenting on Robson’s appointment, Myers said: “We believe this key appointment will assist us in taking Red Lion Holdings forward. It’s a key role in our journey and we are excited at what Mark brings to the table at Group level given the success he created at Red Mist.”

Robson added: “I am delighted to take on the COO role of the Red Lion group leading this exciting and energetic business in the future.

“The current market conditions offer some exciting expansion potential for both brands and with our strong existing teams and recruiting the right people into these key roles, we will be in a great position to capitalise on the current opportunities and support the growth plans for both Red Mist and Grosvenor.”
