Lee Nixon has stepped down as managing director of Ole & Steen after nearly three years with the Danish all-day bakery chain.

Nixon was appointed in 2020 after a stint as interim MD and has helped lead the company’s UK growth, which has seen it double its estate from 13 to 26 sites.

Prior to Ole & Steen, he was the director of UK&I operations at Le Pain Quotidien, before which he was operations director for Costa Coffee.

Speaking to MCA last year, Nixon said Ole & Steen was aiming for the 30-site mark and sees opportunity for 50-60 locations within the M25. With the majority of its sites within the West End, it is looking to push out further East.

The Danish bakery concept arrived in the UK in 2016 currently operates sites across London and Oxford. Earlier this month, it launched a grab-and-go range designed for high-traffic commuter areas, currently under trial at its recently launched Canary Wharf location.
