KFC UK & Ireland has appointed Richard Hall as its new marketing director, following the promotion of Jack Hinchcliffe to chief marketing officer in September last year.

Hall is currently head of value, membership and loyalty at Tesco, and has 15 years’ experience as a marketer, having previously worked at marketing and comms agency JWT.

He will take up his new role at KFC in March.

Hall led the relaunch of Tesco’s Own Brand offer and was the author of the retailer’s plant-based strategy. Most recently, his team launched Tesco’s Aldi Price match and Clubcard Prices, resulting in over one million new active Clubcard members.

Commenting on Hall’s appointment, Jack Hinchliffe, CMO, KFC UK & Ireland, said: “His experience and record speak for themselves, but it is his approach to people and leadership that makes him such a natural fit for KFC.

“I know he will build and contribute to our unique culture, which makes the marketing we do some of the most distinctive around. I have no doubt Richard will soon become an integral part of the team; cultivating great creative, alongside the internal team and our agency partners.”

Hall added: “I have long been a fan and admirer of the brand so the opportunity to join as Marketing Director is truly an honour.”
