Boxpark has promoted Ben McLaughlin to the role of chief operating officer (COO), with immediate effect, as the food and retail outlet focuses on growth and the development of its new concept Boxhall.

Previously at Stonegate, McLaughlin joined Boxpark as operations manager in January 2018. He takes over from David Gough – former operations director at Stable Bar & Restaurants at Fuller’s – who was appointed COO last year, but has recently left the business.

Roger Wade, CEO and founder of Boxpark, said: “As Covid-19 continues to impact the hospitality industry, we can only hope to remain positive and use this time to focus on our future plans.

“I am delighted to confirm Ben McLaughlin’s new position as COO – he is an extremely valued member of the team and has brought fantastic insights into the business since joining three years ago. I have no doubt he will continue to deliver great results at Boxpark as we evolve.”

In August 2019 Boxpark announced plans to introduce two new formats to their operating model: Boxhall and Boxoffice, as part of a plan to launch ten new sites over the next five years. The plan for Boxhall was to open 10-20,000 sq ft F&B destinations, within city centres, featuring between six and 12 street food vendors.
