TV actress Penelope Keith and her husband have failed to win planning consent for a proposed seafront café in Avoch, Ross-shire, in the Scottish Highlands.
They planned to convert a former petrol station into a café but the plans were rejected as “not in keeping” with the area after a campaign by locals who do not like the design and say it would cause parking chaos in the town.
The couple live in nearby Fortrose and have already had former plans for a restaurant on the site rejected by Highland Council.
