TV actress Penelope Keith and her husband have failed to win planning consent for a proposed seafront café in Avoch, Ross-shire, in the Scottish Highlands. They planned to convert a former petrol station into a café but the plans were rejected as “not in keeping” with the area after a campaign by locals who do not like the design and say it would cause parking chaos in the town.
