The York Roast Co is eyeing possible expansion after mainstream success of its trademarked YorkyPud Wrap.
The product hits the headlines in September last year, and managing director Wayne Chadwick said “the fact of our business has changed in that time”. “It’s been a whirlwind year for us,” he said – “we are no longer just a sandwich shop.”
He said the business The York Roast Co had been working on its growth strategy. “In addition to our budding events company, are looking for new locations for 2019 and beyond.”
The family run business is currently embarking on a refurbishment of four of its five sites, following the success of as re-fit of its York Stonegate shop earlier this year, which resulted in sales increasing by 100%.
The business has sites in York, Shrewsbury, Salisbury and Chester, with each to be redesigned with a black exterior featuring a hand gilded and painted display. The interior will have a rustic feel with bespoke, contemporary wallcovering and panelling, with an oak and ochre colour scheme.
Chadwick added: “Following the success of our York Stonegate re-fit, we are rolling out the refurbishment across all sites in a bid to give the brand the refresh it deserves.”
