Thaal, the family-run Indian restaurant group, has opened its third site in Yorkshire, on the site of a former community pub, after a £150,000 investment from Punch Taverns. The company has invested “as much as Punch if not more” in the former Martins Nest pub in Brighouse to create a modern, bright restaurant It follows earlier openings of Thaal restaurants in partnership with Punch in Pontefract and Darfield, Barnsley. It hopes to starting looking at a further opening with Punch in six months time. Rahim Ali, speaking on behalf of his family, said: “We are a high-end Indian restaurant brand but with reasonable prices - we only use fresh, quality produce. It’s been a real partnership – a two-way process. Punch has been very, very good to work with. The key for me is working together – if we make money, Punch makes money.”
