Ian Stoppani, the owner of the Le Bouchon Bordelais in Battersea Rise, is to open his second site, Le Bouchon Breton, next April in Spitalfields. Le Bouchon Breton will comprise a 200-cover French brasserie, and a 50-cover champagne and oyster bar. It will also feature a covered alfresco bar and dining area during the summer. The restaurant’s menu has been created by Michel Roux Jr of Le Gavroche and Le Bouchon’s chef Eric Landeau and will include “well priced brasserie classics” and a brand new section dedicated to a wide selection of Breton shellfish. Stoppani, who opened Le Bouchon Bordelais in 1986, said: “We have been looking for a second site for the past couple of years and Spitalfields is the perfect spot as the City has been crying out for a decent French brasserie and champagne bar.”
