Stonegate Pub Company has won the HR Distinction Award for Innovative Use of Technology.

The HR Distinction Awards – handed out at a black tie dinner in Birmingham this week – celebrate the contribution that cleverly designed and well executed HR strategies make to business performance.

Stonegate, which has 625 pubs and 12,000 employees, won the award for its bespoke online training platform and its new intranet system, which houses a wealth of training and company information along with all employees’ professional development records.

Tim Painter, HR director at Stonegate, said: “It is with immense pride that we accept this award on behalf of the entire Stonegate business. Our employees are vital to the success of our business and our online training solutions and intranet ensure that we give our people the skills and knowledge they need in a way which is convenient and flexible for them.”

The company, whose brands include Slug and Lettuce, Scream, Yates, Living Room and Varsity, was also shortlisted for the Distinction in People Development Award.
