City Pub Company and Hotcha were both new entrants in the top 50 fastest-growing companies in the UK, according to the Sunday Times’ annual rundown.

City Pub Co debuted at 27 in the Fast Track 100, which looks at private companies with the fastest growing sales over the past three years. The group, which comprises and east and west arm, has grown sales 92.3% over that period to £20.3m in the past year.

Chinese takeaway group Hotcha debuted at 48 after growing sales 69.6% to £6.3m.

Hospitality firm, Ennismore, which is rolling out several formats under its restaurant arm, was at 10 while Rosa’s Thai Café also entered the chart at 89. Loungers was another familiar name not included last year, reaching 96 for 2016.

Honest Burgers was in 19th place in the league table, down from second last year, while New World Trading Company was at 32 (2015: 20) and Giggling Squid at 57 (2015: 42). Healthy food chain Pure was at 63 (2015: 45) while Brewdog took 64th place (2015: 35) and Bill’s 70th (2015: 14).

City Pub Co, which was founded in 2012 and numbers 29 sites with four due to open next year, welcomed the news.

MEATliquor and the Coaching Inn Group were both named in the ones to watch list, while BrewDog was also listed as one of the top 10 ‘disruptors’.
