Revere Pub Company, Marston’s premium pub arm, is in negotiations on a couple of high street sites as it looks to add to its 18-strong Pitcher & Piano estate and unbranded portfolio this year.

The group, which is led by Colin Sadler, has appointed Simon Johnson of Quirico Estates to aid its expansion drive as it seeks high-profile, high street locations, with the view to making two to three openings a year.

Sadler also told M&C Report that he was looking for a high-profile chef to work with the company as a consultant and mentor to its food teams.

The group is looking for further Pitcher & Piano sites after the success of its site in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, which opened last August, and the uplift experienced at its Tunbridge Wells site that was recently refurbished.

It will re-open the Pitcher & Piano in Nottingham’s Lace Market this Thursday after a £400k refurbishment

Sadler said: “We are actively looking for the right sites, but we won’t rush. We are very pleased with the performance of Hitchin and Tunbridge Wells and believe there are opportunities out there for us to grow further, whether that is through Pitcher & Piano or through our unbranded format.”

On working with a high-profile chef, Sadler said: “I want to find someone who can come in to the business a few days a year and inspire our food teams. Someone that consult on our menus and make sure that our chefs and food offer remains ahead of our competitors.”
