Café Rouge is to launch a new delivery brand called Stack & Grill, as it looks to get its ”slice of the delivery market”.

Offering a limited menu, the brand will focus on new sourdough croque monsieurs, as well as burgers and craft beers. It will initially be available at 40 sites.

Speaking at the Casual Dining Show, James Spragg, chief operating officer of parent company the Casual Dining Group, said that while it had had some success from a delivery perspective with Bella Italia, it had proved a lot tougher with Cafe Rouge. “However we want our slice of the action so we will shortly be launching a new delivery brand, from Café Rouge kitchens called Stack & Grill.”

Spragg said that at the moment Café Rouge was very busy in the day but quieter in the evening, so had the capacity in its kitchens for more delivery customers at that daypart in particular.

He told MCA the brand would launch in around four weeks’ time at those sites already offering a delivery service (which it will replace) - but that it would be rolled out to all Café Rouge sites if the trial proves successful.
