A drunken Mexican man who fell asleep on railway tracks and was run over by a train slept through the entire episode and escaped unharmed, according to local officials. The driver of the train spotted Jorge Lozano Lopez lying on the tracks and blew the whistle in an attempt to wake him, but was unable to rouse him or stop the train in time. The train's undercarriage passed within a few inches of the drunkard's body but did not touch him. Lozano Lopez did not regain consciousness until well after paramedics arrived on the scene late on Wednesday night. "I counted only six beers," he told El Norte, a local newspaper. "But who knows how many more there might have been. I don't remember."
