Marston’s, the brewer and pub operator, has told M&C Report it has secured planning consent for three more newbuild sites in the south east as it revealed details of its latest newbuild in the region.

The currently unnamed pub in Crawley, West Sussex, will have 180 covers and offer “quality fresh beer and value for money authentic fresh pub food”. It’s due to open in November and 50 jobs will be created.

“We’re extremely excited about our latest pub, in Crawley, which we hope will build a great reputation locally, offering top quality pub food and an unrivalled selection of cask beers from across the country, ” said Ed Hancock of Marston’s Inns and Taverns.

“We have also secured planning consent for three other sites in the south-east in Dunstable, Maidstone and Southend. Aside from this we also redeveloped a pub in Shoreham, which opened in the summer.

“We are really excited about our progress in this region and look forward to more openings in the future.”

At its most recent trading update, Marston’s said it had opened 16 newbuilds in the 10 weeks to 20 July. It expects to open at least 20 newbuilds during its current financial year, which ends at the end of this month.
