Hawksmoor, the operator of eponymous high-end steak restaurant chain, is understood to be closing in on second site for its fledgling concept, Foxlow.
M&C Report understands that the group, which won the Best Company award at this year’s Retailers’ Retailer Award, is in advanced talks on a site in Soho, after the success of the original Foxlow restaurant that opened last November in Clerkenwell.
Last year, Will Beckett, co-founder of the company, which is backed by Graphite Capital, told M&C Report that with the right sites for Hawksmoor becoming harder to find, the launch of Foxlow would allow the business to continue to grow and maintain its momentum.
The group recently secured a new lease on the Frankie’s Bar & Grill site in Yeoman’s Row, with an opening planned under its Hawksmoor brand for this June.
Graphite’s investment, which valued the group at around £35m, provided an exit for the friends and family investors who had funded Hawksmoor’s early expansion, while Beckett, Gott and non-executive director, Paul Campbell, all remained in their roles and re-invested into the company.
Karen Jones, a non-executive director at Rex and former chief executive of Spirit, joined Hawksmoor as chairman.
