Hawksmoor, the operator of eponymous high-end steak restaurant chain, has secured a further site in London, in Knightsbridge.

The group, which is led by Will Beckett and Huw Gott and backed by Graphite Capital, has taken a new lease on the Frankie’s Bar & Grill site in Yeoman’s Row, with an opening planned under its eponymous brand for this June.

Gott said that consumers should expect “a bit of old school glamour and atmosphere and another menu that revolves around what we do best – amazing steaks from ethically reared British cattle and a few surprise dishes and cocktails which we’re currently perfecting.”

Beckett and Gott, who won the Rising Star prize at last year’s Retailers’ Retailer Awards, opened a smaller venture called Foxlow last November in Clerkenwell.

Graphite’s investment, which valued the group at around £35m, provided an exit for the friends and family investors who had funded Hawksmoor’s early expansion, while Beckett, Gott and non-executive director, Paul Campbell, all remained in their roles and re-invested into the company.

Karen Jones, a non-executive director at Rex and former chief executive of Spirit, joined Hawksmoor as chairman.

Davis Coffer Lyons acted for the landlord.
