The Hard Rock Café in Cardiff has closed. The US-owned chain said the closure of the branch in St Mary Street came as part of a review of its worldwide portfolio. The branch employs 50 staff and the firm said it would strive to find them jobs elsewhere in the business. A statement from the group said: "On 12 October, 2010, Hard Rock International closed its Hard Rock Cafe Cardiff location. "Hard Rock has appreciated the opportunity to serve Cardiff and the local community for the past seven years. "All employees of the Cardiff cafe will have the opportunity to transfer to other cafe locations." Branches include London, Dublin, Edinburgh and Manchester. The Cardiff Hard Rock Cafe opened in 2003.
