Byron, the premium burger restaurant group, has opened a new 4,500sq ft restaurant at centre:mk.

The 37-strong group’s new restaurant is adjacent to centre:mk’s Destination Dining, which is home to Carluccio’s, Nando’s, Café Rouge and Yo! Sushi.

The Tom Byng-led chain is also set to open in Langham Place, Oxford Circus, this spring.

It has already secured sites in Chiswick and Clapham Common for openings this year.

Further openings in the next nine months have been also confirmed for Leeds, York, Shoreditch and the Strand. It has also secured a further unit in Chelmsford for an opening next year.

Gavin Murray, asset manager, Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited, said: “Byron is a fantastic addition to centre:mk’s premium dining offer.  They add to an already impressive line-up of brands that reinforces centre:mk’s role as the region’s destination of choice for consumers, restaurants and retailers alike.”

The opening of Byron follows the boost last year to centre:mk’s coffee offer with the opening of Pret and Caffè Nero opposite John Lewis. In addition, work on centre:mk’s Premium Quarter begins later this year to create a destination for upscale brands that complement the existing House of Fraser, Kurt Geiger and Jaeger stores.

CBRE and MMX Retail acted for centre:mk.  RSA acted for Byron.
