Bumpkin, the Ignite Group-owned British restaurant chain, has secured its fourth site in London, on Sydney Street, Chelsea, in June, as it looks to expand to 20 venues across the UK within the next five years.

Set in a Georgian townhouse, the new restaurant is spread over three floors and has a total of 187 covers, with 65 in “The Secret Garden” area and up to 30 in the private dining room, The Botany Club.

The site will also include a ‘Potting Shed’ bar, filled with an array of plants and herbs, leading through to The Secret Garden, designed by double RHS Chelsea Flower Show medal winners, Second Nature Gardens.

The company said that the garden will also be the first place in the UK to have a Bertha Oven, an outdoor version of the Josper Oven, so guests can enjoy an array of cooked-to-order chargrilled dishes.

Tina English, managing director of Ignite Group, said: “I’m delighted to be opening our fourth site in Chelsea. It’s a great location and we’re confident that our traditional British menu and beautiful outdoor space will be a hit with both visitors and local residents. This is an exciting time for Bumpkin, with plans in the pipeline to expand to 20 venues across the UK within the next five years.”

The Bumpkin brand currently operates restaurants in London’s Notting Hill, South Kensington and Westfield Stratford City.
