Britvic will come up for sale next year once Six Continents (6C) demerges pubs from its hotels but it could be hard to sell.

6C owns the business jointly with Whitbread, Allied Domecq and Pepsi Co, but it is the largest shareholder.

The soft drinks company is thought to be worth about £500m.

Pepsi is believed to be reluctant to lets its UK interests fall into the hands of venture capitalists and neither it nor Allied are interested in buying out the rest of the company.
