BoxPark has secured a site for its first BoxHall opening in London, which will follow the debut of its new dining and retail concept in Bristol this summer.

The group has agreed a 15-year lease with TfL – the site’s freehold owners – for the Metropolitan Arcade building, near Liverpool Street station, which is due to open in the summer of 2023.

The 17,000 sq. ft building has a ground floor and a small pre-existing mezzanine with 266 internal seating covers, with the new site proposals to include 16 kitchen units, and two internal bars, subject to planning permission.

A sister concept to BoxPark, BoxHall will be an all-day social dining experience, with food, drink and events. A marked difference to BoxPark will be that all BoxHall sites will be developed within existing buildings – with the plan that most of which would be historical, culturally rich or iconic in their respective local communities.

BoxPark said that BoxHall City would be followed by further sites to be announced later this year.

Roger Wade, founder & CEO of BoxPark, commented: “We are delighted to sign this new BoxHall site with TfL in the heart of the City, where BoxPark was born 10 years ago.

“Our team have worked extremely hard to secure the Met Arcade - a fantastic, historical site built in the Victoria era, originally the entrance to Liverpool Street Station. We are excited to repurpose the building and make it home to a premium Food, Beer and Music Hall – BoxHall, whilst retaining its character and feel.”

BoxPark recently secured new investment from mid-market private equity firm LDC in order to support plans to roll out new sites over the next five years.
