Welcome Break, the motorway services operator, is to add Subway and Harry Ramsden’s to its list of brands before the end of the year, M&C Report understands.

The group, which is led by Rod McKie, is understood to have signed both brands to open at its Woodall Services off the M1 near Sheffield. The site will also see the introduction of the first roadside Waitrose convenience store.

The introduction of the new brands is part of Welcome Break’s program of upgrading its facilities for consumers.

Earlier this month, M&C Report revealed that the first KFC Drive-Thru at a motorway services is due to open at Welcome Break’s Cardiff Gate before the end of November.

It will be the 26th KFC operated by Welcome Break.
