Tim Hortons is to open four new drive-thru restaurants as it continues to spread its reach across the UK.

The Canadian QSR brand will open sites in Oldbury in Wolverhampton, Mansfield, Teeside and Portadown.

The business opened two drive-thru sites last week, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset and Braintree, Essex, with a further drive-thru opening in Stockport earlier this month, taking its total estate to 48 sites.

Since the beginning of the year, it has also opened drive-thru restaurants in Westbrook, Anglia Parkway South, in Ipswich.

Other openings in the pipeline include Milton Keynes, Dunstable, Plymouth, Stirling and Antrim.

Tim Hortons is one of North America’s largest QSR brands, with around 4,800 restaurants globally.

Speaking to MCA last summer, Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer for SK Group – which is rolling out the brand in the UK – said that the ultimate aim was to open a Tim Hortons in every major town and city in the UK.

Until now much of the expansion has taken place in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England, but the focus is now on extending out to other regions.
