Piper, the backer of Flat Iron, Turtle Bay and Hickory’s, has exited its investment in recipe box and ready meal company Mindful Chef to Nestlé.
Piper invested £6m into Mindful Chef in December 2018 to enable the business to continue to grow and expand its customer base in the UK.
During its period of investment, the company has increased sales fivefold to £50m, relocated its fulfilment and warehousing facilities and enhanced its digital and brand story.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The brand’s focus on health and nutrition has also seen Mindful Chef appointed the official nutrition partner for the English Institute of Sport while its partnership with the British Heart Foundation aims to raise awareness of how a healthy, balanced diet can help support heart and circulatory health.
Sir Andy Murray, Victoria Pendleton CBE and Will Greenwood MBE are among its advocates.
