Mod Pizza, the Sir Charles Dunstone-backed concept, is believed to have entered insolvency proceedings.

The UK business, which originally entered the UK market as a joint venture with Sir Charles’ Freston Ventures and the US parent company, is thought to have appointed Campbell Crossley & Davis.

Mod Pizza UK changed its address to the insolvency practitioner earlier this month.

All nine restaurants operating under the brand have remained closed since lockdown in March.

Dunstone, who is also the backer of Five Guys UK, took full control of MOD Pizza in the UK earlier this year.

Campbell Crossley & Davis and Freston Ventures did not respond to a request for comment.

Mod Pizza UK CEO John Nelson told MCA he was unable to comment.
