Hawksmoor plans to open a further two sites in London under its Foxlow neighbourhood-style restaurant format after entering talks to acquire two sites from restaurateur Sam Harrison for an undisclosed sum.

The Will Beckett and Huw Gott-led group is in advanced talks to acquire Sam’s Brasserie and Bar in Chiswick and Harrison’s in Balham for openings under the Foxlow format in October and November respectively.

Harrison said: ”It is with a heavy heart I would like to announce that I am in talks with Will Beckett and Huw Gott, the joint owners of Hawksmoor and Foxlow, about the potential sale of my restaurants, Sam’s Brasserie and Harrison’s - subject to a full consultation with my staff. If this goes ahead, we will close our doors for the final time on Sunday 30th August 2015.”

Harrison, who opened Sam’s Brasserie 10 years ago, and Harrison’s eight years ago, is selling up and moving to Oxfordshire to explore further opportunities in the sector.

The Graphite Capital-backed group currently operates two sites under the Foxlow brand in Clerkenwell and Stoke Newington.

Hawksmoor currently operates six sites under its core brand. It opened its first regional site under its in Manchester earlier this spring.

Earlier this year, Beckett told M&C Report that it wasn’t a “numbers game” for the group, but that expansion would be based on the “right opportunities becoming available”. The group had previously been in talks on a site in Soho’s Berwick Street for Foxlow.
