Fulham Shore saw group revenues at around 103% of the levels seen in a similar week in 2019, during its first full week of indoor trading, with like-for-like sales at around 92% of their levels two years’ ago.

The operator of Franco Manca and The Real Greek restaurants now has 71 out of the group’s 73 restaurants open for dining indoors and is continuing its takeaway and delivery services.

The board said the group’s recent sales performance was “very encouraging” in light of the capacity restrictions in place. It said last week’s sales gave it the confidence to continue planning its opening pipeline over the next three years.

“Our property team is travelling around the UK looking for new properties and we have a number of sites that are currently in legal negotiations,” said Fulham Shore.

The business has opened a new Franco Manca restaurant in High Holborn, London, since the start of its current financial year on 29 March and is due to open a further site on Mitchell Street in Glasgow next week.

Its remaining two existing restaurants – one Franco Manca and one The Real Greek – will open at the beginning of June.

Users of its loyalty scheme have doubled since the beginning of the first lockdown last March, to more than 220,000, it added.
