Consumer confidence in the UK is at its highest point for 15 years this month despite weak household spending earlier in the year.
Figures from market research Company GfK suggest continually low inflation and wage growth have contributed to the biggest rise in its monthly sentiment index which jumped 7 in June – up from 1 the previous month.
The previous monthly figures are attributed to uncertainty surrounding the election affecting personal finances.
