Pre-tax profits at the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham, North Yorkshire, plunged from £715,000 to £85,000.
Turnover, however, remained consistent at £17.6m.
Paul Theakston, managing director, said in his notes for the accounts for the year to March 31: “We started the year happily on track for April and May regarding operating profit, but then came June when we saw a black hole appear.”
