Pizza Hut is leading donations towards a Deliveroo appeal to give 500,000 meals to NHS workers.

Pizza Hut’s corporate estate has pledged 350,000 free meals for NHS workers near their UK kitchens over the coming weeks.

Other meal donations include offers from German Doner Kebab, Itsu, Lewis Hamilton’s plant-based Neat Burger restaurant and others.

Itsu is looking to reopen select kitchens specifically to produce free meals for NHS staff, which will be run by volunteer staff, the majority of whom are on furlough.

Founder Julian Metcalfe OBE is among dozens of staff volunteering to prepare and deliver food from itsu sites in King’s Road and Regents Place.

Meanwhile, Deliveroo rival Uber has announced it will cover free meals and trips to NHS staff.

Uber will commit 200,000 free trips up to a value of £15 each to help staff get to and from work, while staff can claim a £10 voucher to order food.

Just Eat is offering 25% off for NHS staff.
