Deliveroo has launched a major global expansion of its ‘Signature’ order service, and plans to sign up 50 new restaurant partners by the end of the month.

Already partnered with brands including Nando’s, Pizza Express and Wagamama, Signature enables customers to order delivery, pick up and table service via restaurants’ own websites and apps.

The service offers restaurant partners a logistics and customer service solution, whereby Deliveroo completes food delivery orders made by the restaurant’s channels, and end-to-end website design, with Deliveroo logistics and customer service embedded in branded sites.

With a greater reliance on digital appearing across the eating out sector, Deliveroo has said it’s seen a surge in demand for the service. Having recently added operators including Patty & Bun, The Athenian, The Breakfast Club and Fat Hippo, the aggregator said Signature will mark a “critical area of growth” for the business in 2021 and beyond.

“Enabling customers to order delivery via restaurants’ own channels is a compelling proposition for our partners and deepens our relationships with these partners,” said Stephen Goldstein, EVP restaurants at Deliveroo. “This new product expansion is particularly important given the current backdrop facing restaurant partners and is being deployed alongside other support measures for restaurants, particularly small independents that are the lifeblood of the industry.”
