Deliveroo has boosted its technology leadership team with several new hires and promotions.

Dan Winn has become VP of Engineering and Akshay Navle will become Deliveroo’s chief product officer.

Navle joined the food delivery business in May 2018 when Maple, the company he co-founded, was acquired by Deliveroo.

He was previously VP of Product at Deliveroo, leading the roll out of Editions and Restaurant Home at Deliveroo.

Winn, a former director of engineering at Google, will lead a global development team, refining the Deliveroo experience for customers, riders and restaurants.

At Google he focused on YouTube Live, Gaming and VR initiatives.

Meanwhile Caleb Merkl, also co-founder of Maple, will replace Beth Clutterbuck as chief people officer.

Thea Rogers, formerly a special advisor to George Osborne, will become chief communications, policy and legal officer, replacing Rob Miller.

As previously announced, Inés Ures has been appointed chief marketing officer, joining from Treatwell, the marketplace for hair and beauty bookings.

The new tech leadership team will focus on rider proposition and its relationship with couriers, restaurant growth including Restaurant Home and Marketer tools, consumer selection and ease of use, and team growth of Deliveroo’s technology team.
