US coffee and açaí bowl concept Raining Berries is to launch its franchise model in the UK.
The Florida-based business, founded by Bimal Bhojani, is now fully franchised in the US, has just opened its 18th site stateside, with another 10 planned to open in 2023.
BeeSmart franchise consultancy is in the process of launching the franchise in the UK, with regional towns and cities such as Bristol, York, Bath and Lincoln, on the target list.
Andy Hulbert, managing director, BeeSmart told MCA that market mapping suggested the potential for more than 250 stores in the UK over a 10-year period, with Hulbert eyeing 20 by the end of this year.
“In my opinion we don’t have this kind of offering in the UK, particularly from a regional perspective,” he said. In terms of the kinds of locations it is targeted, Hulbert added that it’s considering anything from busy high streets to retail parks.
Tapping into the health and wellness trend the menu also features a range of fruit and veg packed smoothies and kombucha drinks as well as topped toasts, sandwiches and waffles.
Several of its US sites also offer bookable meeting rooms, which come equipped with free wifi, charging stations, TV screens with chromecast/screen mirroring – something Hulbert said he believed could work well in the UK.
