Healthy fast food chain Leon has today launched its new summer menu.
“There has been a lot of research recently on how we digest, and all the findings show that our guts do so much more we have been giving them credit for. We have always known that food is linked to happiness. Science is now showing that having a healthy gut is critical to the overall health and happiness of our whole bodies,” said Rebecca Di Mambro, innovation manager at Leon.
This focus on the core sees Leon introducing a Blueberry & Elderflower Kefir, a fermented shake full of nutrients and probiotics. It sees them adding turmeric to their Carrot, Apple & Ginger juice – a spice with anti-inflammatory benefits and an ability to help us digest proteins and fats better. It also sees the return of their Lamb Kofte Salad, served with a pickle-kraut relish that’s packed with the power of plants and good-for-the-gut acids.
Kirsty Saddler, brand & marketing director at Leon, said: “We always start by thinking about what would really tickle the taste buds, and be new to the food scene. When we really focus on this and what we have set out to do as a brand, it will usually happen that the end result is good for you too.”
Leon has also brought back their Chicken Tagine for the third summer running, slow cooked with preserved lemons and green olives, and introduced a brand new salad. Recently partnering up with Wester Ross – an independent high welfare salmon farm in Scotland – this second salad of the summer season is a Hot Smoked Salmon Superfood Salad. The fish is hand reared, and smoked using a sugar free cure.
