Chocolate-focused cafe brand Knoops has announced that it is targeting 100 sites in the UK over the next five years, with its first central London site to open next week.

The café and retail business is due to open at 2 New Row, in Covent Garden, following a successful launch in Oxford earlier this year.

As part of its growth strategy, Knoops has 10-15 sites earmarked to open this year, and has ambitious plans to expand globally, reaching 3,000 stores worldwide, before 2030.

Its cafes selling hot and cold chocolate drinks, including mochas, milkshakes and iced chocolates, as well as a menu of teas and coffees. Customers are able to choose from 20 different chocolate percentages in order to create their bespoke drinks.

Founder Jens Knoop commented: “We are excited to provide visitors and locals to Covent Garden a comforting treat in the form of a delicious hot or cold chocolate drink - to add to their memories whilst exploring the hustle and bustle of the city, or as a welcome break in their working day.”

Knoops currently has sites in Oxford, Brighton, Rye, Kensington, Chelsea and Richmond.

Speaking at MCA earlier this year, Knoops’ chief executive Tori Nunn shared how the café brand is looking to follow the single origin journey of speciality coffee.
