Hi Coffee has remodelled one of its Express format sites in order to launch its first Hi Coffee Bakery.

The new look store will open on 1 November at Friars Walk Newport Bus Station.

Jonathan Hill, founder and MD of Hi Coffee UK, said guest feedback led to the remodelling of the whole store, which will be focused on premium food and drink.

There is a focus on sweet and savoury pastries, cookies, a “better priced” hot drinks menu and a new £3 breakfast roll and hot drink offer in the morning.

The business currently has three other grab and go format Hi Coffee Express stores (two in south Wales and one in Plymouth), and one Cosmo store – which is more focused on eating in, and serves wine and beers, in Newport.

It also has plans to open two further formats: Hi Coffee Metro, which would be targeted at more central or community locations, and Hi Coffee Micro, which is designed for travel hubs.
