Bold Street Coffee, the Liverpool-based Graffiti Spirits-backed speciality concept, is launching a Kickstarter campaign to finance a return to its original home.

Launching on 28 May, the campaign is seeking £30,000 to return to 89 Bold Street, after Bold Street shut earlier this year when it went into liquidation.

Graffiti Spirits founders Matt Farrell and John Ennis are relaunching the brand under a new company with Bold Street founder Sam Tawil.

The coffee brand currently operates as a pop-up at the group’s Santa Maluco rodizio pizzeria.

Earlier this year Farrell told MCA of plans to relaunch Bold Street as an all-day café and late night cocktail bar in the mould of Grind, which would add diversity and longer trading hours to the group.

The site layout will be changed to incorporate a basement bar, with brunch to be served.

Farrell sees potential for more speciality coffee shops in Liverpool and elsewhere in the region which could also open under the Bold Street brand.
