Black Sheep Coffee is planning to open three more sites before the end of the year, as it expands across the UK.

The business will open at 4 George Street in Oxford today, followed by its fourth site in Manchester, at Gateway House, Manchester Piccadilly, and a third location which MCA understands is in the capital.

Black Sheep has doubled its presence in Manchester this year, after taking on the former Patisserie Valerie unit on St Ann Street in Deansgate, which opened in August.

It has been year of significant expansion for the business, which acquired the eight-strong coffee shop estate of Taylor St Baristas in July, giving it a presence in Mayfair, Bank, Chancery Lane and St Pauls, and taking its estate to more than 40 shops.

The FT reported earlier this year that the coffee shop operator was looking to double its estate to 70, through a mix of M&A and organic site openings, after raising £13m in new private investment.
