Middle East hospitality group Al Tayer is launching a new premium grab and go concept to complement its franchise offerings in the area, M&C understands.

The group will open the inaugural Atrium Café in Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi by September.

David Singleton, vice president hospitality for the group, told M&C: “This is our own brand created initially for commercial buildings and should it be the success we hope for expect to roll out.”

Singleton told M&C the company had just taken on Paul Gamble, formerly of EAT, as its new executive chef - heading up all culinary development, kitchen design and supply chain.

The company opened its third Caffe Nero this week in Ibn Battuta and plans to open at least four more this calendar year, taking the estate to 20.

The first two international sites for New York-based up-market coffee shop Serendipity 3 will open in Dubai festival City and Dubai City Walk in December. Steve Forcucci will join the group in September from YO! Sushi as Serendipity 3’s first manager.

Al Tayer will also open the newest More Café in the Mall of the Emirates extension on 28 September.

The group opened its newest Emporio Armani Café in the Mall of the Emirates last month and Singleton said it was trading well.

The next Magnolia Bakery will open in the Dubai Festival City in December
