This week, M&C takes five minutes to talk to Tossed founder Vincent McKevitt about crowdfunding, eggsluts and what impresses him about Hawksmoor.

What’s your main business priority for the coming 12 months?

A successful crowdfunding campaign raising funds and also new fans/investors. The growth with those funds via own store and franchising with key partners (Dubai, Welcome Break and a Travel Hub operator already secured).

What is the best marketing campaign you have seen this year?

Pret’s Hot food tour was quite innovative and out there.

Where did you have your best meal this year?

Angelina (Commerical Director) and I did our annual research recce to LA. Some of the innovation coming out of there was great. A lot of kale! But the best meal we had was at a breakfast place called “Eggslut”. We loved the name and the egg brioches.

Which business in the sector provided the best experience?

I’m very impressed every time I go to Hawksmoor. The team are always on the ball and pretty trendy.

What is your main concern for the sector?

Rent, rent, rent, greedy landlords, rent…

Which other business (any sector) would you most like to run and why?

Apple, for obvious reasons of grandeur!
