Liverpool Street Station had to be closed on Saturday night as party-goers held a final drinks party on the Circle Line to mark the final hours before the start of an alcohol ban on London’s public transport.
One passenger described the Tube carriages as “like a war zone” with bottles thrown at police.
British Transport Police reported about 2,000 revellers in and around Liverpool Street at one stage.
The Mail on Sunday said it was mostly a friendly atmosphere.
