UberEats has confirmed its launch in Birmingham, after signing up 100 restaurant and café partners in the city.
As flagged up by MCA last month, the group has appointed Lizzie Lang as Restaurant Partnership Launcher - UK Expansion, to recruit restaurants for this year’s launch in further cities, after successfully launching in Manchester earlier this year.
The company officially launched in Birmingham yesterday with operators including Leon. It is also thought to be close to launching in Leeds.
The group launched in London’s Zone 1 in the summer and expanded into Zone 2 in September – increasing the number of restaurants available to 500.
On its launch in Birmingham, UberEats general manager Mathieu Proust said: “We’re really excited to be launching UberEats in our third city. We have been blown away with the quality of the food in the city and can’t wait to get the service fully up and running. We have a very successful taxi business here and are confident UberEats will be just as popular.
