KFC has signed up with mobile payments platform Judo as it looks to simplify online payments for its customers.

The chain said that the partnership with Judo, which last year partnered with coffee chain Harris + Hoole to launch an award-winning app that allowed shoppers to pay for the food and drinks through their phone, should lead to higher transaction completion and increased loyal customer satisfaction.

The new partnership comes as Judo announced it had raised £6m in new funding.

The investment, led by Route 66 Ventures, will be used to grow the company’s team as it looks to expand into new markets and territories later this year.

Chief executive and founder Dennis Jones said:  “Consumers are deterred from using apps with a clunky experience, we’re looking to make this seamless. We’re incredibly proud of our work with our merchant partners and continue to find innovative ways to enable these businesses to capture and serve their loyal customers on mobile channels.”
