Online service Deliverd is eyeing rollout for its subscription service that offers chef-prepared meals for delivery over-night.

The Chef Box scheme has so far been trialled from Deliverd’s Sheffield base, where it is also seeking to expand its Deliverd Local service to more northern cities.

Chef Box is priced at £5.50 per dish including delivery, but with a minimum order of six dishes. Weekly or fortnightly subscriptions can be paused or cancelled at any time. Food is delivered overnight by the company’s partner courier via refrigerated vehicles.

Co-founder Paul Rawlings said: “We believe that customers need convenience but not always right now, a pre-order system not only allows our customers to plan their week in one go but means our partner kitchens can batch produce and operate with zero percentage food waste. Pre-ordering for a set delivery slot and a chilled format buys us time to route our deliveries using our TigTag delivery technology, as a consequence we don’t suffer from the inefficiencies of A-B delivery like other food-tech businesses, instead we can ensure our bicycle couriers are always operating to maximum capacity within an allocated delivery window - in essence, we can shift far more food per hour, there’s no down time and the only outlay of cost is that of staffing.”
