Serious Pig, the pub snack business backed by BrewDog founder James Watt, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £350,000.
The George Rice-led brand is raisinginvestment to expand its product ranges and take it to a wider consumer market in the UK and beyond.
The premium snack company has seen a year-on-year grown of 36% since 2014, is valued in excess of £8m and saw record sales £152,000 in Q4 2018.
Following the raise on Crowdcube, the brand will look to increase its current product offering by 300%.
Watt, an investor and advisor in the business, said: “I’ve known the Serious Pig team for a couple of years and have watched them lead a revolution that’s close to BrewDog’s heart – similar to how we make craft beer, Serious Pig is passionate about craft meat. I’ve got high hopes that they’re the ones ready to seriously lead the snacking revolution.”
The brand’s products include snacking salami, snackling oven roasted crackling and crunchy snacking cheese.
They are currently sold in Tesco, Whole Foods, Fortnum & Mason and UK BrewDog sites.
