Ooberstock, the online wholesale company, has gained listings with drinks giant Diageo and Magners producer C&C Group. Arran Heal, managing director of Ooberstock, said: “Securing listings from these two major drinks companies is a significant step forward for us, and means that we are now rivalling the most established ‘bricks and mortar’ wholesalers in terms of our offering. “We are delighted with the first few months of trading and our growing customer numbers show the industry is embracing a more transparent, lower-cost and more flexible service. We are confident that increasing numbers of licensees will make the switch to our service.” The move follows the collapse of rival WaverleyTBS. A new report from WaverleyTBS’ administrator Deloitte said Diageo was owed £6.1m from the wholesaler, while Magners GB was owed £365,395. Other drinks firms that have signed up to Ooberstock include Heineken UK, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Britvic Soft Drinks, Bibendum and Cockburn & Campbell wines, Pernod Ricard, Bacardi Brown Forman Brands, First Drinks Brands, Maxxium UK, Global Brands, Whyte & Mackay, Oval Vodka, Budweiser Budvar, Red Bull, SHS Sales & Marketing, Highland Spring and Wells & Youngs. Ooberstock also has a partnership with the Society of Independent Brewers to supply member brewers’ beers to pubs and restaurants.
